Hi, I am using windows 11 now. When I right click an icon I dont like the new look of the menu and I would like to go back to the win 10 look. How do I do this plz? tia
Or a recent OpenShell that, in recent version works, also in in Win 11 / Server 11. OpenShell replaces just the start menu but not the idiotic macOS like taskbar, but you can use a combination of the above Explorer Patcher + Open Shell can be a good replacement for StartAllBack (which is the most refined solution but is a paid SW)
ok i remember now, you also got right click menu in win 10 thing is that in win 10 it was easy to customise it in windows 11 you can also remove lines from right click menu but as far as I remember sfc will show error if you run scan. either leave it as it is, or customise it the way you did in windows 10 and dont run sfc, or install third party start menu
Or use your mouse utility (by microsoft/razer/logitech whatever) or the great generic xmousebutton, and customize the right click to emulate Shift+F10 Or use winaerotweaker, which has the option Or use explorer patcher which has the option Or use StartAllBack which has the option Likely there are another bunch of ways.
The StartAllBack can be find patches fix and no need paid software I had tested over long time and no problems.. ATGPUD2003
Not sure I'm getting what you mean, but as I wrote earlier, StartAllBack is surely the best all in one solution to fix for Win11/Server 11, and is usually more frequently updated to take care of the newest beta builds changes. But is a paid SW which is something that people who dont want to pay (or crack) the SW must take in account. Albeit caring about open source SW while using the stinky Win11 is a bit stupid/naive/hypocritical, some still prefer explorer patcher (alone or in combination with open shell) because they are open source. They are a sound solution for released Win11 builds, but often EP isn't updated enough to support 259xx/26xxx builds (the author explicitly said he don't care much of unreleased builds).
Yep but Classic Shell (and Open Shell) fixes just the start menu, not the useless taskbar the systray, the cpl applet redirection and so on. You need Explorer Patcher or Start All Back, disabling their own start menu, or Actual Multiple Monitor to fix the taskbar as well. Then even Classic Shell 4.3 works as it used to, since Vista.
It's a further option. What makes the two cliks needed by "your" solution easier than the two clicks needed using say winaerotweaker, or the doubleclik needed to import a registry key?
This is not a problem for me at all, because I do all this with the image at the stage of its formation (before installing the OS). I believe that the Windows 11 Classic Context Menu is the easiest option when the OS is installed. This is my personal opinion, and everyone does as he likes.
Sure, but the point is that to fix Win11 the left click thing is not enough, Winaerotweaker is a must since Win 7 (and it works mostly even in VIsta). Classic shell Is desiderable to have since vista and practically mandatory since win8, startisback /allisback are a must have since win8 and so on... So, given the above utilities are going to be installed anyway (one or more of them), and they fix ALSO the right button click, having monofix tool for the right click is redundant.
Oh, it was so long ago, do you still remember them? And why was he better? I started my acquaintance with Windows with version Windiws 3.1, so I sort of went through all the main stages of its formation. Personally, I like everything except its new context menu. Somehow, I personally don’t suffer from nostalgia for the past, but you?
A "retro" thing that requires the latest .net 6 is broken by design. The .net package alone is twice the size of the WHOLE original Win95 setup....
i don't disagree with you, but also, I think everything else shared in this thread is GARBAGE as well. Was just offering an alternative. i won't use 11 personally anyway.
not at all, i don't use it. I don't and won't use 11 either. i just think all the other alternatives shared here are more garbage than retrobar is, that is all. Function over looks, because s**t that is pretty is still plain s**t.
Classic Shell garbage? You can't be serious. A small piece of SW that, literally turned the post XP mess in usable OSes? The same is applicable to the other mentioned tools. Retrobar is just nostalgia, with little practical use, but with large footprint.
