my friend works at a shop/gas station. they hired a new gas attendant so they set a password on their win 7 machine which also runs the billing software and their ALLDATA car information for the mechanics. but the owner forgot the password he set get into windows. i tried running ophcrack as a bootable cd, but it had no luck. he also gave the computer to one of those on call "computer tech" guys who said he had 7 different programs and none of them could crack the password. anyone have any other way to bypass it or figure out the password he forgot?

Look up and download the Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT 7) iso. Burn CD and boot. Then you can reset the Windows password.

For XP there used to be a bootable cd with rainbow tables. May be you can re-install windows and access HDD or boot from USB to copy data.

I believe there is a program in the programs forum to help with this. I would show a link, but can't because I have under 20 posts.
