did you upgrade from vista or did you do a clean install?

if you upgraded look for windows.old folder on your local disk.

That's pretty heavy. I did a clean install months ago and installed my appz and I'm at 19.3G.

This can free up the space whether you did an upgrade or not.

Run disk cleanup by typing in "disk cleanup" in the search bar in the start menu run it, select your C drive or whatever drive you have Windows 7 on, and click OK. after it has completed the scanning of your drive, you will see the dialogue box come up with items that can be deleted, look to lower part of the dialogue box you should see "Cleanup System Files" with the UAC shield beside it, click it, reselect your C or the drive you have windows 7 on, then click OK, after it has completed the scan scroll through the list and make sure you select Old windows files or something of the sort.and tick whatever else you want to delete, you can decide this by the importance of the available options or the current space they occupy
