After many days of thoughts, I have decided to upgrade my Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 I have an upgrade key for Windows 8. I also have installed Office 2013 home (licensed) My questions are these: 1. I want to do a complete (fresh) reinstall of windows 8.1 and skip Windows 8 upgrade. Is it possible? 2. What will happen to my office 2013? Will my license still work after I reinstall? Do I need to any thing else before? Thanks guys in advance
I would use Josh Cells advanced token backup available through the MDL tools section of the forum. You can use it to back up your 2013 activation. Then you would install 8.1 with generic key (google to find it), then after install change your key to your windows 8 upgrade key to activate. I would do all this with your internet off and do a call in activation for your 8.1 because you can back up your activation with phone based activation, If you activate through the internet you cannot back up your activation.
