Well It would be a good idea to go to control panel and look through your list of Programs and see what doesnt belong in there. Since your the user you should know what you installed and what you didn't. I would start by removing what you dont recognize. Than I would do a virus scan. than I would use malewarebyts and scan the computer. I would also use CCleaner and go to Tools tab than Start up and make sure only the select stuff starts up with your computer. Do a reboot and see if anything changes.
Thanks, but I would not have asked in this forum, if there was anything on your list, that I have not already have done. But the problem is more specific than I thought: I have four different e-mails account from four different websites. I cannot send any e-mails to a hotmail account! Everything else seems to work fine, I can receive mails sent from that hotmail account, but I cannot mail to any hotmail account, my own or others... So there must be some setting changed?
Seems that hotmail blocks certain servers. This is of course done by a computer... and so the mess takes a while. I found a few websites where they have known the problem for a few years..... no nothing new, only hotmail to hotmail works. Other mails do not get through...
So is this solved? The issue was with hotmail sending email to other servers, which it sometimes blocks? My one idea last night was that maybe the time and date was wrong on the PC, which can effect secure layers which will mess up a few things.
The hotmail problem is solved. A friendly soul at the Thunderbird forum suggested replacing the outgoing server that Hotmail uses, with the one that GMX uses, and it works again. Still... very weird. The Demonoid problem is still the same. Torrents download from other trackers work perfectly well, the demonoid one stays on the status: "Offline(timed out)" no matter what I do. So torrents that are private, =only tracked by demonoid, cannot be downloaded.... weird things are happening
The bad news is, that now the GMX mail account can no longer be accessed at all.... It does not accept old the password, and will not accept a changed password....
