Win 7 x 64 compatibilty tests

Hi Folks,

we now tested about 200 Applications + Drivers with Win 7 x64 and nearly all without problems.

Shortly:

Nearly all Programs + Drivers which run with Vista x64 also run perfectly on Win 7. This should not be big suprise, because Win 7 is Win 6.1 = Vista R2

If someone is interested I can post a list of most of the tested applications.

We have made about 20 Backups, some restores and often mount images. Everythings works fine. Certainly I can't proove if there might be some problems in certain circumstances

Maybe, but it also works .. sometimes we had some problems with network mounted images which we had to remount, but something similar we had on Vista x64 so I'm not shure if it is a Win7 problem. Generally TrueCrypt works and no data was corrupted.


Same with Lightroom, no problems .. sorted about 5000 photos

It is just the experience of some week so there might be still problems in some cases, but I hope this list will help although

 

Perhaps it's not a problem of Lightroom but of the graphic card driver ..... we had some problems with older NVidia drivers ...

 

I personally use Win7 RTM on my PC with TI H 2009 and have restored a lot of data form old images an use it also as my daily backup.

With Vista it was the same, they told us to buy a new Version TI 10, but it still worked with the old versions. I'm sure now every manufacturer will present a new Win7-Version to sell new product, regardless if it is necessary,

Sorry You're right, this was a misunderstanding

TI 2009 really fails when You try to mount an image with a Drivletter. We don't use this most of the time, because normally You just need some files to recover. So we mount the images without a driveletter just bei opening them in the explorer (without starting TI). That works fine ...
