    I am not running ICH10R but I am running an ICH8R on an Abit AB9 Pro with my C:\ and D:\ drive both running on the 1TB RAID 5 set.

    W7 has no problems with it. I even installed the newest version of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager for W7

    there is no problem with Win7 x86 or x64 and RAID 0,1 etc ...
    using ich9 (x38) or ich10 (p45) chipsets on my machines with x64 ...
    (MB Asus P5E and P5Q dlx) no extra driver needed to install win7 with raid , but you can upgrade to the latest intel raid drivers if you want after installation.

    Im using 2 x 640GB WD AAKS HDs, P45 GB UD3P mobo with ICR10R, Raid 0 and Win7 x64. Works without a problem.

    OK, this is good feedback, sounds like something in my current system is just hosed, and I'll probably be ok if I build it again from scratch.

    thanks guys!

    My original question was regarding Server 2008R2 which as we all know is Windows 7 Server, it's working fine now, I updated the other thread.
