    Is there a way to re-organise the navigation pane in windows 8.1? I wan't it to look similar to windows 8/7. Where you had the documents, videos, pictures and music above the drives section, the way it is now I find I have to scroll down all the time and it is quite annoying, it also looks very busy and crowded the way it is.

    Right click left pane and you could remove (uncheck) Favorites and Libraries, i did cause 1) I don't need MS to tell me which are my favorite folders, i know them, and 2) I don't see the benefit for displaying Libraries, the same folders show under This PC. Looks cleaner too now when it only shows This PC and Network.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}]
    "SortOrderIndex"=dword:00000042
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}]
    "SortOrderIndex"=dword:00000050
    You may want to backup each of these keys before you apply this, untested.

    What about Homegroup? Is there a way to remove it from Windows Explorer?

    or just leave homegroup
    afterwards you can deactivate the homegroup services (services.msc)
