    Hey up.

    Been messing about testing new installs of Win 8.1 Pro. Time I moved on from Win 7.

    I have a few REG tweaks for Win 7 that work fine on Win 8 and some don't.

    One of which is remove the shortcut prefix when creating a new shortcut.

    Is there a difference between 7 and 8 REG ? This does not work for me on Win 8.1.

    Anybody offer advice on where I am going wrong.

    Plus summet I have not tried and that is DISM for Win 8. Is this the same as for Win 7 ?

    Code:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
    "link"=hex:00,00,00,00
    "-link"=hex:00,00,00,00

    i always use both and it's working

    Frameworks Vista Shortcut Manager v2.0 32bit and 64bit builds, site is dead long ago but you can get from a trusted hosting site, I kept the 64bit build safely Rared up.

    Worked for me since Vista, Change my little arrows or remove them and Shortcut Prefix.

    Can even uninstall it after you set changes and it will still work.
