Hello all, I have Win 8 pro installed and I wanted to update to 8.1 but it's not in the store. When I ran the win 8.1 update troubleshooter it said something about my version of windows wasn't able to update through the store. My question is can the win 8.1 update be downloaded on its own and installed manually? I'f so might someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks much. P.S. I did search but didnt see what I was looking for or the links they pointed to were all dead.
perhaps it is because you have installed any volume version of W8? If so you need to load a brand new edition of 8.1 with update and make an inplace upgrade
I apologize I didn't include the fact that it was a KMS activation. I'm still very new to this and really had no idea that would make a difference. I'm learning more and more as I go. Thank you both for the help.
