i tried win 8.1 x64 20 in 1 November 2013 iso Murphy78 from TPB to install on vmware (using win 7 x64 october updated murphy78) as main OS on pc. i chosen 3 different editions to install , but all failed at 88% of file expansion in the installation. error says sources not found, check the source. 1) pro n VL pre-activated 2) pro n VL 3) pro i checked sha-1 checksums and it is fine.
Hi, I have installed Pro, ProWMC and Enterprise from the same iso and there wasnt any problems. Since you are saying sha1 checksum is fine I would suggest checking your vmware settings. How much RAM are giving your guest? i would suggest 1GB at least since that iso uses ESD instead of WIM which is highly compressed.
i gave 2 Gb and 3 Gb Ram in different trials. everytime installation failed. may be download corrupted. i dont know whether sha-1 checksum can catch even one corrupted byte inside iso. i have been using murphy78 rips of 7 x86 and x64 versions for long time. they are very good.
Your sha1 likely doesn't match. Re-download and have it check the torrent and it'll probably re-download a chunk. P.S. this is not a support forum for TPB.
disk space was enough, sha-1 checksums matched (even i read every key of sha-1 that came with iso and the software displayed sha-1 after calculation, deleted vmdk files and re-started vm etc. nothing worked. i try same download later or i download next month AIO becoz just 3 days back i re-installed latest 7 and dont want to disturb it. i deleted iso in frustration and may not recover it now thanks pun, murphy and amires for replies
I had same problems too. I don't know if this helps but I uninstalled latest VMware 10.0.1 and re-installed: VMware-workstation-full-10.0.0-1295980 and everything is working fine for me... Cheers
bertikul thanks for the suggestion. i downloaded latest version of vmware ( 10.0.1-1379776 ) and also downloaded 2nd release of 8.1 aio murphy78 nov 2013 to test my luck again. this time vm was taking so long to load files , then i shutdown vm , change vm settings to "connect network on start up" and restarted vm. installation raced like bullet and i got 8.1 desktop in few minutes. thanx for murphy too.
