Hello MDL community I have a problem with my OS: If I choose reboot - windows don't do it. It shows me "Rebooting..." and than just turn off monitor, all fans are working, computer doesn't show anything. it seems like Windows simply turn of the monitor and that's all. I tried to do chkdsk - no issues sfc.exe /scannow says that it found some problem files but could't repair them. It happened after using driver update tool "SlimDrivers" Does anyone encountered with this issue? Don't wanna reinstall windows
Run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Then run sfc/scannow If it does not help, reset Windows
I know that but I have an old motherboard gigabyte p35-ds3p so I decided that support on official website is closed and I should find newer driver by myself Also I have a stupid habit from windows XP - to switch off restore points
Slim Driver always give false dates of installed drivers and I think it not reliable. Driver Genius 11 works right for me most of the time just onemistake rarely.I learned a hard lesson switching system restore off,I create a restore point every day now.
It depends on which option you chose. In Search, type Recovery and make your choice Suggest you back up your spp folder just in case you need to reinstall.
So you've already identified the problem. It's most likely a bad device driver. I've encountered something similar a while back. I updated some Atheros Bluetooth drivers, and it prevented the system from rebooting (or shutting down). I rolled back to the previous version, and the problem was fixed. Moral of the story: the newest version isn't always the best; sometimes a new driver will introduce new bugs.
Enigma256 I installed Synaptic "synaptics pointing device driver" and have no idea how to delete it. It doesn't show in "Programs and Features" and hasn't uninstall file
I don't have any synaptic device and also don't have any device with yellow triangle. Everything in Device manager works fine. May be someone know a tools which can scan system for installed drivers and remove them?
