I have a system up and running with XP Pro volume. Thanks to My Digital Life, I am fully updated and all is well. Then I thought about installing Microsoft Security Essentials and hit a road block when they told me I would have to activate my copy of XP first. Has anyone done this? Should it pass the validation OK? Is Microsoft Security Essentials worth the trouble? I am also wondering, could or would, MS add something to MSE to check for any of these win 7 or XP activation tricks and call them viruses and then remove or disable them? Thanks
If you-re OEM activated, you have nothing to worry about. In that case there's no problem installing WGA. If you're using a dodgy retail key, you'll run into trouble. Edit: Didn't see you're running a Volume edition. Well, still - if the key is good, there's no problem. If it's bad, there is a problem.
If your 'fully' updated your activation has already been checked. As there are a number of updates for XP (e.g. WMP, .NET) which will check your activation. Is MSE worth installing? Only you can tell, on this forum you'll dozens of people that love it and dozens more that hate it. Personally I install it on every system i build/sell because it works, its free, and is far, far better than nothing at all.
hi...anyone can help me??? I need newest WGA for my xp sp3 pro volume. please PM me link download coz most of link was incorrect or file was deleted. I coldnt find it. thanks B4
I am not sure(cause im noob) but can't you do this ? h**p://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/6077-VLK-and-OEMBIOS-changer... I did and i have MSE on xp pro without problem. I am still Genuine
If you are not using a legit key, you should consider to change to oem activation instead of vlk activation. (see thread oem/vlk changer). If you are oem activated, you don't have to worry about a thing, and you don't have to use patched wga files!
