    Hi everione,

    I'm trying to activate

    Server 2008 enterprise x64
    or
    Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64

I've been searching here for last 2 days and still can not understand how it works properly.. sorry I'm too new in all that

    I have dell Inspiron 9400
I did manage to upgrade bios from 2.0 to 2.1 using exe file from desktop

now I presume I need correct license file and key?

Is there any available links to get ready dell OEM versions ?

Can someone be so kind as to walk me through getting this to work? I would appreciate it very much.

Please let me know if I can provide you with anymore information.

    Thanks!

    1. Modify BIOS to include SLIC 2.1 and flash BIOS w/ SLIC 2.1
    2. Get cert that match the H/W vendor of the SLIC in BIOS. Import it to R2.
    3. Select the OEM SLP key for the version (STD/ENT/DC etc.) of R2 to be activated.
    4. Done.

    Well, sharing is caring ;)

Seeing that there are already what, 4 or 5 leaked Win7 SLP keys, it shouldn't be that much longer for a 2008R2 one to leak, considering they'd be coming from the same sources.

it took over a year for all the keys for Server 2008 to get leaked.

The thing is not a lot of people buy OEM servers, they buy servers without the OS because they have a VL for the servers.

Very true or use a internal KMS to activate them, saves a lot of money then getting them from OEM's

I've downloaded an local kms ! It works fine for Windows Seven & Vista (Business & Enterprise) but it doesn't work for Srv 2008 and Srv 2008 R2.
Anyone can tell me why ? and where i can find a version which works for both of them ?

    Thx

yeah , I did try first KVM from WZOr

but it did not work for Server 2003 Standard without Hiper-V
which I've got from there as well :)

Make it yourself from Retail and add slp key + certificate

Without activation ONLY if you have slic+certificate+slp key

Enterprise is the same (of course ent key needs to be used)

    i wouldnt hold my breath.

if you just gotta have server 2008 r2, and/or other ms software/os's just buy a technet acct using a promo code and your set, $261.75 for 10 licences for EACH MS product that requiers activation, as well as access to new stuff thats still in beta or just out is nice, and access to iso's of stuff that have the latist service packs build in is another nice feature :)

SLc I suppose will work what I have now in Inspiron
if Dell's slp key will leak :)

    One other question

How the Volum license's activation works ?
still activates them with KVM ?
