Win7 as Hosting Machine

    Hello everybody...:)
    I wouldlike to know if it is posible to host my own site on my home machine from my home ?
    I plan to use apache, MySQL...e.t.c.
    So I would like to know is all that I have to do is register my IP in the DNS system and put up the site ?

    It should be possible than, but why use windows 7 instead of webserver 2008 r2 wich is specially designed to be a webhoster?

    You could also get one of the many Linux distros out there pre-configured for all that, since you mentioned already your desire to run Apache and MySQL. Without paying for a static IP address, I find it easier to get around that with Linux, if you haven't thought about that just yet.
