I had installed Vista on my ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 home built with an SLIC BIOS activation using: SLIC Tool v1.3.1.0 ASUS BIOS rom file Asus SLIC BIN file ASUS SLP file ASUS.XRM-MS file The Vista activation was good and held up to updates and SP1 installation. I have since uninstalled Vista. I didn't like it well enough to keep it. Now I'd like to give Win7 a try. Will this present BIOS configuration work for the activation of Windows 7 also, or do I need to start over again to be able to do an OEM activation?
You're right. It was the ASUS.BIN 2.0 file. it came in a folder named SLIC20. I've been looking around the forums and cannot locate the ASUS.BIN SLIC2.1 file. It's awfully confusing trying to figure out where to find it. Where can I find the ASUS.BIN SLIC21 file? I have the 2.1 bin files for: Dell, HP, Lenovo & MSI. I'd like to keep it 100% ASUS if possible. Thx for the help so far and any more that I can get.
Where can I learn about SLIC? I see there are several versions, I think there's 2.1, 2.0, 1.1? I wonder what the differences are.
I looked right at it and didn't see it while trying to find it on my own. Thx, I now have it. Now, to d/l Win7 64bit and give it a try to see if it's as good as many are saying it is, or if it's another Vista fog bank. Thx again for the help. S_S
