    It is safe. Done that on N series 1545 myself. However do not remember the steps exactly. I think it was as simple as resetting the service tag for me.

    I don't have floppy drive

    Well I downloaded the files from the link posted, One of them had the program in iso format. Burned on a disc and that did the job.

    ..Dell Bios Reset worked 4 me and now SLIC is visible and its V2.1 :) i jus need 2 install the certificate and key :)

    I just bought the same notebook as u .. dell inspiron 1545 and i have the same probleme

    tell me please how did you used the dell bios reset .. how did u do it ..

    i opened the link that rytiss sent u and downloaded the delbiosreset.rar and there is 2 files in it boot.car and WINB98.IMA

    I dont know what to do with them

    well i downloaded that file from dell that changes the service tag .. i guess i have to boot with it .. but i dont have a floppy drive and i cant make a flash memory as a boot device ... can i do this with a cd? and how please

    easest way if you dowload iso burn cd , but create usb boot disk easy way too

    how to create cd from iso search google
