I got my hand on a win7 Home Premium from HP It was send to a friend whom qualified for the upgrade program. How do I know if this CD has already the certificate on it so if it matches the BIOS, that I already update to SLC21, it will activate Thanks
Share and i will tell you!! only jokin! have you tried to see if there is a oem folder in c:\windows\system32\oem there may be a cert in there! and also look in oobe folder in c:\windows\system32\oobe\info\ for oobe.xml
Just check the installation and there is not oem folder and on the oobe there is not certificate I guess I'll have to add the certificate my self and use one of the keys posted here I was hoping since this DVD has 4 lenguages on it english espanish, french and portuguese
you will need to mount the install.wim in the sources directory on the dvd to get to the oem folder and the oobe folder! did you do that already??
NO I did not mounted I ran the installation and did notenter a key number and then check on the c:/windows/system32 folder
Most probably just a normal upgrade dvd then that has no oem imformation! did your friend get a product key that came with the dvd?
YES HE got a key with the DVD I went ahead and use one of the HP WIN7 HP leaked and install the certificate for compaq-hp via the command SLMGR.VBS -ilc <OEMNAME>.XRM-MS and is activated Thank you for the help This will keep me activated since this key is from a HP machine it self
I believe the upgrade discs they send out are actually just normal OEM Windows 7 discs with OEM keys. None of the branded SLP, certificate, etc. stuff. The only difference is the physical printing on the disc itself.
