Win7 XP Mode (XPM)

    So guys I have been searching/reading tons of forums. As I understand XP mode is just a software emulation of xp. Can someone tell me what it would used for? who would want it? Thanks :p

    clearly u didn't read the article...

    It's mainly used for running Windows XP-based applications (like IE 6) alongside Windows 7 applications under a single desktop.
    An imortant consequence of using xpmode is that you'll have allmost 100% compatibility with all currently used windows applications.

    From a legal point it is not.
    The concept is, that you don't need to buy a second license to run a second instance of OS in VM. Like you do in case of VMware.

    I cannot install symantec antivirus in the xp mode.It says it is not suported in virtual machine.
