Since installing Win7Loader release 5 (with great success - TY Hazar for option #2!) I have discovered my bios is slic 2.1 enabled. (Dell Inspiron 531 - BIOS ver 10.1.13).

Would there be anything to gain if I could uninstall Hazar's loader (option 2) and use a cert and key instead (option 1) ?? I have noticed a slight delay in by normal boot time ..no biggie..but without the grub mbr would that delay go away.

    Thank you.

If you have a 2.1 BIOS it's generally best to uninstall a loader and install the corrrect cert ;)

If you had installed the Loader in the first place, you will find that you have Slic 2.1 which is from the loader.
You need to uninstall the loader and check whether it have slic 2.1

    uninstall hazar's

Use 7load 1.5v2 and choose uninstall 7loader option to remove grldr etc.

    or

    REPAIR FROM RECOVERY CONSOLE

    1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD and boot from it (reboot, hold Option and wait
for the disc icon to appear -- it may take a few seconds).

    2. When promtped, press any key to boot from the DVD.

    3. Choose your language and press Next

    4. Select Repair Your Computer

    5. Say No to any automatically suggested repair options, then select your
    Windows installation and press Next.

    6. Choose Command Prompt.

    7. Type: bootrec /fixboot

    8. Press enter and then click Restart.

or to be completely sure reinstall win 7 and add cert and key.

i faced a similar issue. it shows 2.1 but that is just a virtualisation. its not true in most cases. so uninstall it and then check.
