in my case on a dm1 notebook, installing the RP driver causes glitch or artifacts in certain websites. If no drivers installed the "dynamic contrast" can't be disabled....

Yep, this is the only issue i have with RTM atm. I've tested tons of stuff but seem like i have to stick with the provided driver, they seems ok. But I cant run some Opengl apps and have some issues with crossfire. About the amd RP driver, the installer will finish but gives error on just the driver itself. So i would also like to know how to use them if possible.

I would expect RTM drivers together with official 12.8 drivers planned for mid August.

Change the driver being currently used to 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' ( otherwise it sees that you have a more recent version installed 8.9.10 ) in Device Manager and then install through Device Manager again, the driver you want.

Now I'm on Version 9.0.0 ( June 12 ) and it works nicely. I play Battlefield 3 without any problem. I tried this: AMD Catalyst 12.7 (8.981.2.0 June 26) and it worked, likewise.

Currently I don't care for Catalyst etc and I don't know if they gonna work normally that way.

Get one of those versions, extract them normally on C:/etc and when the install process is going to start, cancel it... Install through Device Manager. The 12.7 versions include a bug and the clocks stay on video mode until you reboot ( 501Mhz ).

The 19 July AMD driver is also for Windows 8, it would probably be your best bet so far.

That version has the same problem as the release preview version on my computer. It installs everything but the actual drivers, and gives an error at the end of the install.

Drivers included in the RTM are still borked for my HD 5470m, this is on a Vaio EB17FX. EVR is dead OOTB, means no WMP video, no Flash HW acceleration, etc.

Have to use Sony's or go back to 12.3 to get EVR to work.

^^ I can confirm this. I've got these installed on 2x 7970s, 1x 7870, 1x5450. All working perfectly fine with no issues during installation.

Device Manager -> Update Driver -> Browse My Computer -> Let me Pick from a list of device drivers on my computer and chose Microsoft Basic Display

My HP laptop with dual graphics crashes when trying to install any AMD drivers, including the latest unoffical one. It has an AMD HD 4200 and a HD 5000.
Is there any way around this? The same thing happened when I tried it with the CP an RP. Only the Developer Preview seems to work.

Is there any way to install it anyway or should I wait until the next update? My laptop currently uses the HD 4200 card and the 5000 is disabled and doesn't work.
