win8 update to 8.1

    i just bought a used laptop. it has a win8 oem partition on the hdd.
    if i update it to 8.1 would it revert back to win8 if i ever did a factory reset??
    i think it would but just like to check;)

    yep, that's guaranteed. It doesn't update the restore image.

    Deleted all partitions and installed 8.1.all ok.
    I'm a bit annoyed as I had to manually enter the key for activation,bios didn't pick it up.??
