Has anyone been able to install an older operating system such as windows 98 on a relatively modern laptop (say last 8 years or later) with success? I want to set up an old laptop as a game laptop for some older games that won't play on XP and above. The only way I have been able to do it is through a virtual machine, but this is too slow so would like to install it on its own partition. I have the original disks but no floppy disk drive for the install disk and haven't been able to find a suitable iso that will install.

    Thanks.

it works perfectly even on a latest generation i7, even with SATA Hard Disk and DVD
you just need to see the BIOS settings
For RAM if you have more than 1GB you have to install PatchMem, otherwise it won't start!

You probably need a moded windows install CD with added sata drivers that said the other hardware drivers may not be available for the system. You may have better success with an emulator there are many out there depending on the type of game you wish to play. LonTV on youtube has a few editions showing different gaming options.

Thanks all for your suggestions and comments. I'll try the iso image first and then check out LonTV on youtube.
