Hello, Thanks for the sticky threads. There is great information in the sticky threads. However, which activation tool is recommended to activate windows vista? Windows Loader or Microsoft Toolkit? Which tool uses the safest method such as "no file modifications perpetual trial". Thanks.
Windows loader by Daz, MKT is for enterprise versions only which uses KMS activation and you need to activate every 180 days so not permanent like loader. Also why go for Vista when you can install Windows 7 and activate with loader.
In this instance vista was installed instead of windows 7 because the computer is a few years old. The computer was purchased with vista installed. Everything has always functioned perfectly with windows vista. Are there any reasons to change from vista to windows 7?
There are no reasons not to do it. Vista is already in its Extended support phase, that means it will get no more features. Windows 7 is still under full support. Windows 7 has everything Vista has, with improved performance, so I'd go for it.
''The computer was purchased with Vista installed'' And was it properly licensed? That's the question. And if it was, why not simply reactivating with the same key?
Indeed, this is what I meant. No need for Loaders or 'perpetual trials'. OPA Tool or using the product key would do it.
If you are lucky enough and OPA tool has correct certificate it is totally outdated User should still use Daz loader to install key and certificate. Another point as It could have Vista OEM:NONE SLP Members are just guessing because of lack of information not knowing if this is a branded OEM:SLP machine.
Thanks for all the replies. Installing Windows 7 Ultimate instead of windows vista seems like the best option. However, would it be even better to install windows 8? Perhaps after purchasing a computer with a preinstalled licensed Vista business edition, a computer user might prefer to swap his Vista business edition for Windows Vista Ultimate.
@ cyber1, upgrading to windows7 or windows 8 will also depend on the specs of the machine some vista machines did come with only 512mb of ram at first.
Again, no need for an Activator. Just change the certificate and key. OPA Tool would do it. Use version 0.8.
As I already stated opatool is outdated not been updated since 15 Aug 2011 and even then it was MDL member bigfoot15 who updated it since OPA has stopped development. You can Just use Daz loader to install certificate and key the loader won't be installed if slic is present in the bios.
