Since the new Windows 10 update can apparently be activated by using Windows 7 and 8.1 keys, I wonder if it can read the SLIC information from the bios and activate automatically? For 8, can it read the unique key? For 7, can it activate after importing certificate into OS just like Windows 7 SLIC 2.1 activation? Or is still required to upgrade from 7 first to register the hardware ID? Thanks.
What i've noticed it reads out slic 2.1 (win 7) while upgrading. In about 20 min i'm going to do a clean install on a PB Notebook to test. Official Keys can be inserted after install, i tried it with a 7 pro MAK (provided by another mdl member) and during setup it didn't work.
No, Win7 OEM:SLP keys are not acceptable for direct activation only Retail, OEM:COA, OEM:NONSLP and of course, volume keys won't work either: GVLK or MAK
7 --> 10 the semi-legit way I boot off and install win 7 pro, and use the oem slp key and slp activation. I used this guide which had both the keys and certs. It works for any windows 7 version and most manufacturers. techdoors.wordpress.c o m/2012/09/26/activating-windows-7-oem-way After that I used the windows 10 media creation tool to proceed with the "upgrade" to 10, it worked and was activated. The computers I have tested it on came with XP, Vista and Windows 7 home, they went to 7 without issues then to 10 without problems.
You are posting wrong information you need slic 2.1 in bios or use daz loader to pre-activate windows 7. XP, Vista do not qualify for free upgrade and they also do not have slic 2.1 in bios.
