I currently have Windows 10 10240 (from the insider program, been there since the beginning) installed on my main hard drive, can I install windows 7 (to use DAZ loader) on another hard drive, and then upgrade to 10 on that hard drive and then reactivate the original install, and have it be permanently activated, or do i need to do all this on the original hard drive/install

i have my system setup perfectly, and dont want to really do it all over again from scratch

    thanks for reading

Yes a hard drive swap will not invalidate the HWID activation. I have tested this... I used a brand new ssd for my clean install and it was still recognized for activation.

Interesting. Let us know if anything weird happens when you do this.

Was the old hard drive still in the box?
