@case-sensitive The location is indeed not the most correct, but the program you want to open the images with has no influence on whether you see icons or thumbnails. If always are only icons, but not thumbnails, You have probably changed the Folder Options, you noted there "Always show icons, never thumbnails" Remove the option and restart explorer if necessary and you should see the thumbnails.
