As long as it is set in stereo its fine but try to put it in 5.1 or 7.1 it kills the sound. I then have to uninstall the drivers and reload the windows drivers. Realtek audio manager is the same ..as long as it is set for stereo there is sound but change it to 5.1 or 7.1 no sound, any idea's or fixes?

I had the same problem with an Asus Xonar DX card (haven't bothered trying it for the last few builds), but my onboard realtek audio just works as soon as Windows is installed and allows me to set it to 5.1 without issue

ohh... they miss to fix this on the last build, seems like it was one of the +300 they fixed but this is not one of them. I think they have to apply to a guinness record cause fixing 300 bugs in two days is somekind world of record.

I have a Xonar D2X, and if I make any change to the sound - either using the Xonar Audio Panel, or through Windows - I completely lose sound until I uninstall and reinstall the drivers in Build 158 and 159.

I've sent Feedback about this so we'll see if anything happens.

I have an HP envy 17-3200 with IDT SOUND (beats sound) with the same problem , my workaround is when you change the sound setting you have to go back to the enhancements panel and restore setting to default and the sound will be back, after you can add back bass booster, virtual surround etc

I don't think it is a Realtek problem. I use some other audio software and drivers for recording and changing the playback format in any of my audio devices makes all audio stop working. 5.1 and 7.1 work fine for me but once I set one of them I can't change or that will make audio stop working as well.

Try all sampling quality. One should work even with 5.1.

I got audio back on my Xonar D2X by trying various bit and sample rate settings in the cards properties under the advanced tab, try and test, even if you have audio and the error message shows try other setting untill no error appears.

Same problem with a clean install this is getting ridiculous.

Each time I go to reboot after the driver installation tells me to restart the installation pops up again as if I clicked on it wtf? lol. This is with the latest and beta driver. I'm gonna try the driver that came with my mobo just out of curiosity.
