Anybody got any idea how to fix the display driver for Windows 10 64x bit in lenovo laptop? I have had issues with it since windows 8.1, hoped that the update would fix it. I cannot change the brightness, the driver also glitches when computer is on for too long and prevents me from accessing screen options, I have to restart the computer due to this quite often. I did reinstalled it couple of times and played with setting, had a new driver from lenovo website, however that did not fixed the issue. Anybody got any advice on that??
run services.msc and go to Device install and right click start.. same with Device setup manager.. now open device manager (win key and X pops up menu to click it) right click the display adapter in question and update auto. if win updates are working it should install... if it doesnt then download mediacreationtoool and re upgrade repair w10.
I had the same issue for many IP builds on my Dell e6400 laptop. The last 4 or 5 builds seem to have resolved the issue for the Intel graphics chip. Have you tried removing the monitor from the device manager and rebooting? Also i found it helpful to go into the BIOS and set the brightness to max and then upgrade Win10 or reinstall the monitor and video driver.
Uninstall from device manager and control panel. Reboot. Go to driverpack solution site, download their online utility and install driver(s) online.
Yep, I agree with using a driver utility. When all else fails me, Snappy Driver Update has saved the day more times than I can remember. Everything from Unknown Devices getting installed, to display and audio drivers getting the correct driver installed. Not necessarily the newest driver, but the BEST driver for your device. Give it a try, what have you got to lose?? There is an option at the top to make a system restore point before the driver installation.... you might seriously consider that option..
No, if you uninstall a driver from device manager, you must unplug Ethernet cord or driver will be reinstalled on reboot. Try it
O yeah, sorry due to all of the stress, I forgot about it. The model is LENOVO 2181 X64-based Processor MD64 FAMILY 20 MODEL 2 STEPPING 0 AuthenticAMD - 1300Mhz
Look, I'm here to tell you that SDI, Snappy Driver Installer, is your best, easiest option. You are going to get a different opinion with a different solution from almost everyone that posts, you already see that. Not saying they are wrong, or mistaken, just saying there is a much faster, easier way. You asked earlier if the SDI site was safe, I'm here to tell you it is most safe!! No malware, no adware, and no risk. Just download the program, not the complete driver packs. The newest version is R477. Run the basic SDI program, and then it will tell you there are downloads available. Just choose the index file to download. That way, after you have the index file, it will only report what you need for your computer, not every computer in the world.. It might report that you need several drivers, but right now, just focus on the display driver. Check the box next to your display driver, and then click on Install. The program will then download only the driver you have selected, install it, and after a reboot, you should be fine! Again, I say that this program has gotten me out of the same issue many, many times when I could not obtain an OEM display driver for Windows 10. I work on a LOT of laptops for people, and I speak from experience, not just hearsay. Or, you can continue to jump through hoops. Your choice.......
