Hi all, Did anyone tested WFC10 / Windows 10 Firewall Control ? @sphinx-soft.com i'm currently testing it and really thinks its pretty much everything i need in order to exhaustingly allow IN/OUT only the traffic i want.. Thanks for any inputs, regards, m.
I am using it for years, only drawback is that you need the registered version of it to be able to block system programs. The free version allows system files all in/out access.
Never tried this one, although i've tried many possible End Points FW.. Sophos End Point FW (which is very good but pricey), ESET (don't like it, very very complicated), TinyWall (not deep enough to my tastes) Kaspersky (nahh nothing for me, don't know don't have the feeling of controlling things..) and many more.. All my former solutions were filter drivers based, which means possible leaks at boot time - W10FC is not such a solution.. I think i'll buy a few W10FC Plus licenses for my hosts.. It does what i want indeed.. Cheers, m.
Alright you said and quote "to exhaustively allow IN/OUT only the traffic i want" Could you please elaborate on this? Is it about Windows 10 telemetry?
Yes, for once, you've got a very clear view onto what that damn svchost.exe thing is doing, you can really control any IN/OUT furthermore and that was something i needed, you can relax on your LAN or LANs.. Have a try, i can't post URLs yet but get the plus version from http:/ / www . sphinx-soft. com / Vista/ order.html remove the space obviously..
I know the official site, no worries. Thanks for the tip about svchost.exe I see a lot of blocked connections in WFC (binisoft) I am no expert whatsoever but willing to learn about this W10FC. Hope I have the time to do it lol
There are 4 editions: Network/Cloud, Plus, Basic, Free. Which one is suffice to analyze telemetry traffic?
Get the PLUS edition, the Net/Cloud is basically one plus license and remote agent for LAN hosts all managed from your main licensed host. I'll go for PLUS edition everywhere...
I think it would be good to you something like this, procesess, services, network, disk and firewall out connections control.
