@pisthai Most of us here have real life duties, not only you. But these duties don't give you the rights to spread false/wrong information. Regarding being a Mod, I don't 'screw' anyone whom I don't like - I'm not a dictator. There is a panel of Super Mods & Admins for monitoring.
Win10 on Raspberry Pi 2 will be a stripped down, ARM version of WIN10...and it has nothing to do with the x86 win10. It would be some kind of w10 themed WP7.5ish that would be named 10 just for keeping MS statement "one OS across many devices". Windows 8.1 is already free for smartphones and small devices. Raspberry Pi 2 runs a A7 SOC. A childish analogy would be " Shell is giving free fuel for amateur planes" where you could drain 5cc of gas out of an ordinary pump (drain what's left on the pistol pump),enough for a mini model plane to fly some time. The cited article is obviously a click bait, the "overwhelming" comments thread still stands at 0. Lack of subjects and an acute need of keeping the RSS feed alive....
it will only be free, conditionally. AFAIK retail owners of Win7/8x will be able to upgrade. Not sure about OEM (like dell and HP pre-installed systems). VL will have their own "special" deal for upgrades but thats probably about it. Time will tell soon enough though.
It will be free to claim for all users of home (Non-VL) editions (Home/HomePremium/Pro/Ultimate etc.0 including OEM and Retail during the first year. VL customers not given it free under the same program (although if they have SA under there Volume License agreement they may get it under that anyway) The Pi version will be stripped down ARM one. Interesting, but don't count on all the features and applications of x86/x64 versions or anywhere near the performance. Even with a quad code 900mhz, it's disk system is still Micro SD and 1GB is still very limiting in this day and age. I predict at some point a 2+ version will come out with 2GB when applications for the Windows version would benefit from it.
And now you claiming that I'd spread false/wrong infos etc?! Even after I posted the original content about and when I received from Google?! Not I started this (I didn't mean this topic), that was you with your comment in Post #4 and now further in Post #6 to accusing me to post false/wrong infos! For some long times already, if I post infos, I always post the the links to the origin as required (by law) with just one limitation: black out my real and personal data/e-mail address! Do not start an s**t war!
For sure they need to an downgraded W10 for that very limited hardware power used on an Raspberry! Impossible to compare with the full W10 product. We have to wait for how it will really look, work and feel in the future!
That's isn't the fact! Till now it tells that legal users of Windows 7 and 8/8.1 could use Windows 10 for the first year for free, AFAIK, but free. There isn't any indication till now how much it will really cost! From my point of view, there a lot rumors about the cost and/or the free use of Windows 10. Fact is, Windows 10 is still in Alpha stage at this time and MS never had spread any real infos about any Windows final costings etc at such early development stage. We simply have to wait what will really come out!
What is wrong with you? Tito was being unbelievably friendly in his response and was just merely stating that you were mistaken. Actually it has been confirmed. Windows 7/8/8.1 can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free for the first year and will continue to be valid for the life of the device. windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/about
I would say you shouldn't jump in on something you didn't know in full, just from one post! That's simply an personal things between Tito and I and I also send an PM about (again) with my full comment! I just didn't like to get accused about something what I proved up front it were not from me just an received info from e-mails.
Everybody take a deep breath - step away from their computers - be glad you are not sleeping with her: Spoiler Now, don't we all feel calmer, happier, and have a little more gratitude for each other...
