So I was helping a friend fix a few things on his laptop. It has Windows 10 Home Single Language. I tried entering the generic keys for Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise but it wouldn't work and I got a message that he doesn't have a digital license. I thought with the generic keys you are able to upgrade to test it at least and figure out the activation later?

Even using the SLMGR.VBS /IPK XXXXXXXX in command prompt didn't work

Last time i checked it had the same online upgrade options as normal home but not by slmgr but by "change productkey" in settings.
