Hi, i have an empty hard disk, so i want a clean installed and activated (possibly forever*) Windows 10 x64 1511 VL (*when i say activated i mean able to get windows updates) (PLEASE DON'T HATE ME) because i have read ALL post covering this issue but i'm confused and i don't know what to do: A- install windows 8 (or 8.1) -> activate via kmspico -> upgrade to Windows 10 -> clean install (staying connected to internet for activation) -> install drivers and software; or i can simply: B- install windows 10 VL -> activate via kmspico -> install drivers and software; the questions are: 1- it's true that i can't do option 2 because microsoft soon or later can change the way they distribute updates, founding a suspect kms servers and they will be able to de-activate my copy of windows? 2- in option A after installing and activating windows 8, the windows 10 activation uses a different mechanism: windows 10 will "use" the kms activation of windows 8, generate a unique key and dont' need to be re-activated? 3- it's true that option A is suggested only for the upgrade having a windows 10 licensed ONLY for 1 year (the famous upgrading "offer")? Thanks in advance
Maybe the simple answer would be to pick up a genuine win7 dirt cheap and have no problems about upgrading. Not so long ago one supermarket was selling win 7 for £12 to clear.
Correct except once digitally entiltled the licence is for the lifetime of the device The one year free period ends July then PC's without digital entitlement will need 2nd option for VL.
