Hello, maybe you know why not work with PS2 keyboard connector? on Win 10, sometimes running and suddenly freezes up. Sometimes Windows does not start, and you turn off the keyboard instantly upload Windows 10. Keyboard old, but tried a new keyboard with PS / 2 connector is still not working. BIOS works. On Windows 7 works fine ...

For reference, ps2 keyboard should still work on 10, it does on my testsystems.

Open regedit, go to HKLM/system/current control set/services/i8042prt

Look for start, now rt click modify the value to 1 and not 3. Now cold boot the system. See if this helps, if not just change back to 3.

Did you also install the newest Intel INF installer or is this AMD ?.

Can you post the model of the PC or motherboard.

What Intel INF installer did you use and is this on a upgrade or a clean install of 10 ?

Intel core i5 4460, Asrock B85M-DGS. I use Intel Driver Update Utility 2.2.0.5, from Intel site. I use murphy78 win 10 and install from usb stick.

    TY

Well win 10 has support, sounds like bad keyboard, but then you tried new one. The ISO of win 10 from Murph should be good.
    Try-
    - Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
    - Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.
    - Click hardware and sound and run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
    - Follow the On screen instructions. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

You can try - Updating the UEFI to version 1.50 Use instant flash, place extracted UEFI on fat32 flash drive and enter UEFI and go to tools tab and then instant flash, safest way.

Enter - UEFI and go to avanced - ACPI -PS2 keyboard power on for wake.

Get a PS2 to USB connector and use USB instead of PS2.

Open devise MGR and look for any flags.

Remember you have onscreen keyboard from start if the PS2 stops working.

I have PS2 Keyboard and Mouse..

This PS2 keyboard is very old (more than a decade old) but being mechanical, its going strong and I love it..

I have faced similar issues with Keyboard at times, when keyboard stops responding or typing speed slows down a lot.. As a solution, when it freezes, I just have to disconnect and reconnect it to get it working, and for typing speed, I have to open the keyboard settings, and change the typing speed value once to lower then again on higher to make this work at proper speed.

Swapping it with new solves the keyboard freezing problem but this typing speed slow down is always present, even with a new PS2..
