    Hello!

    Sorry stupid question:
Does Microsoft allow to use Windows 10 without activation? (Home, Pro) Does licensing allow this?

    Thanks!

MSFT even gives you 10 license for free ;)

Thanks Enthousiast. But maybe, you've already activated Windows 10 with a free digital license on a VMWare, on this PC a few weeks/months ago, no ?

Normally the HWID generated for 1 vm doesn't apply on a new created vm, when i now clean install 10 pro on another vm it won't be activated.

    Did a second test:

Created a new VM, installed Win 10 Home, no digital license.
Created a new VM, installed Win 7SP1 HomePremium x64, ran gatherosstate.exe, shut the vm down,
started the same vm, booting a Win 10 AiO iso, selected Home (deleted the win 7 partitions, created new ones), kept windows offline during first logon, inserted the genuineticket.xml and rebooted the vm, connected lan and it was activated by a Digital License.
