did anybody try to replace it (the pri file) with an older version?

At this point I am still trying to get MakePRI to work...

    C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon>makepri dump /if Windows.UI.Logon.pri /of Windows.xml /Verbose
    Option Verbose specified
MakePri: error 0x80004005: MakePri with error: Unspecified error

    Okay new error:

    MakePri: error 0x80073b16: Dump
Windows.UI.Logon.en-US.pri: error 0xdef00101: MakePRI: PRI file is invalid.

Did you try the Windows 10 SDK version of the tool?

Wrong pri file. Your using the one that says en-us. Look at my post on the first for correct file
Go back one directory to find the correct pri file

Oh and could you upload makepri.exe to mega please. I don't feel like downloading sdk to get it :D
    Thanks in advance

Just checked it out (copied both the pri file and makepri.exe from Win 10 VHD to running Win 8.1) and it works fine for me.

This is not about the lockscreen, it's the login screen (where you choose user account and type your password).

I've tried both files with no success using the 8.1 ADK, currently installing the 10 Version.

Not yet, but using dump type "detailed", you'll get the image data as a base64 string in the XML. I never worked with makepri before, so I don't know what it expects as input to create a new one. I'm gonna read through MSDN...
