I purchased a new laptop with Windows 10 Pro version OS. When I connect my Redmi Note 3 with Android 6.0.1 the laptop, the phone is not visible in the File explorer. In the Device Manager, when the phone is connected, I can see Android is connected, but it shows that the correct driver is missing. I spent some good amount of time searching on the internet for resolving this issue, but nothing could solve this problem. Can someone help on how to overcome this issue?
@prabhusati 1. Have you changed the USB connection mode in your phone from 'Charging' to 'MTP'? 2. Can you please post a screenshot of the Device Manager after connecting the phone?
Reinstall the correct driver, if it is missing. If Windows cannot find it automatically, it means You must to install it manually.
@lobo11 The OP isn't asking for casting the screen. @kaljukass MTP drivers come with Windows, you don't need any 3rd party drivers.
Yes, I have changed the USB connection mode in the phone to MTP. But still Windows does allow to access the phone. I am attaching the screenshot of the device manager after connecting the phone.
Try one more thing, remove the cable and open again the menu where You can turn on Charging and MTP. Turn on charging and after some seconds again to MTP, reconnect the cable and see what happened. Refresh explorer if needed. If nothing have not changed, look for this missing Android device.
Click on the 'Detail' tab of the 'Android Properties' and post the information under 'Hardware ID' here for possible help.
in cmd admin net start deviceinstall now plug in usb. if it dont work, go to device manager (win and X keys) show hidden devices in view then remove all android and reboot.
