My cousin have a Sony VAIO laptop model no - E series VPCEL15EN Memory 6 GB Processor - AMD Dual-Core Processor E-350 (1.6 GHz) I have freshly installed windows 10 Pro 64 bit in it and he has 100 mbps internet connection at home He always complains about the slow behaviour of browsing whether he is using edge or chrome My question is should I install windows 7 64 bit in it again or should continue with windows 10 But with windows 10, how to overcome these problems. Also I am unable to find the official drivers of this machine on the sony website I am also thinking to install windows thin PC in it but can't find 64 bit iso as the system has 6 GB RAM
I recently re-did an Acer laptop which has the same very weak AMD E-350 APU processor as your Sony laptop. It has 8 GB of RAM and an external dual band wireless-ac adapter and uses a 400 Mbps internet connection. Even with as much performance-enhancing tweaking as I did to it, it ran Windows 7 Pro 64-bit like a turtle. I'm surprised you were able to get Windows 10 Pro 64-bit to run in your Sony.
What about windows thin PC, have you tried using it? And yes, the processor is very slow, can't handle fast internet connection Replacing HDD with SSD will help or not?
The laptop actually belongs to my son-in-law. When I got it, it had only 4 GB of RAM and an internal 802.11n wireless card and was running like a snail. I had extra RAM and an external 802.11ac wireless adapter in my computer parts room, so no money had to be spent. The age of the laptop didn't justify spending money for a SSD, so its HDD was left in it.
Snappy Drivers is not a bad solution for cases where people want to stick Windows 10 on older hardware. Unlike most driver apps this is not a "scan and then pay for your drivers" app. Its open source and simply just gives you matching drivers, it asks for nothing in return.
fairs a bit better out-of-the-box than normal 7 so I guess it's worth a try other than getting a cheap ssd and 4GB ram (because non-matched ram modules rarely work fine with amd), a heavy nlite 7 would probably be the best
Thin PC is 32-bit only. But it is based on Windows Embedded Standard 7, you could build a custom 64-bit image for your needs.
Sharing homebrew ISOs is not allowed on MDL, but you could use Embedded POSReady 7, which is a ready-made installable version of Embedded 7. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-embedded-posready-7.28226/
POSReady 7 is a bloated crap it needs nlite customization like water Do try thin pc even if it's 32bit only it should run better despite less usable ram
If you don't really need 64-bit OS, just use Thin PC. It is easy to setup and is lightweight. Thin PC doesn't have Windows Search and many other resource hog features.
