I have Windows 10 Pro running quite successfully on a laptop with a T1350 1.87GHZ Intel single core with 4GB of PC2-4200 533MHz memory. Given that the laptop was originally designed for Windows XP and is around 8 years old, I am really impressed with how it works. It's probably working better now than it was when it had XP installed, and it's definitely good enough for basic web browsing. Has anyone else had a success with installing Win 10 on a old device?
Yes, I installed it on my wife's Acer Centrino Duo laptop, also made for XP, works surprisingly well.
If both of you using 32bit Windows 10, than it's really ok for that! You could even get a bit more out of it while using the Enterprise LTSB!
You simply could ad manually what you really 'need'!! Think about: low power CPU memory speed and size graphic card and, and, and! It's simply like the first Netbook's!!
A lot Mhh I'm using LTBS only thing is missing is Edge and I dont miss that Could you tell me what Alot stuff it is missing then
Me too. I'm trying Enterprise LTSB, no Edge, none of the modern apps junk, no Cortana. I'm curious about the really cool features I'm missing plz?
4GB RAM is more than "low powered device". Do it on a netbook with 1 GB RAM with all the bells and whistles and then you can say you've done it. The processor you can say it's ancient, but it's capable to run any x86 OS.
Originally the laptop had 512MB of ram. I got a couple of 2GB sticks for the princely sum of £13.00 last week. To be honest, I had little faith it would work at all - it was pretty slow with a new XP install, and really not good when I upgraded it to Windows 7. Win 10 and a bit of memory has turned it from scrap to something I might have some use for... I have a couple of other laptops sitting around including a old Time 8375. I might see if I can find the power supply and have a go. EDIT... That was easy - found the power supply. The Time has a AMD Athlon XP-M 2600+ running at 796Mhz and with 512MB of memory. It has a 40GB HDD, so there should be enough room...
