Windows 10 Technical Preview (64 bit) is very nice so far. I've decided to make a log of what works and what doesn't. The list got everything I need and use in my laptop.... BUT just one thing is missing..... itunes. Can anyone install and confirm if itunes is working with no problems i.e - sync etc.. thanks so much for great help community
booo hissss boooo !! I will not Sam I Am, I will not play iTunes in a car, nor in a Jar. I will not Sam I Am, install iTunes, not even for a car! sorry, was important that I mention that -ed- Installed fine, signed in synced. Appears to be ducky at this end.
For the intel LAN drivers, manually install them via device manager and everything works fine. That's what I did with my ASUS Rampage V Extreme's onboard nic. Edit: Add CPU-Z to the list of apps not working
Because apparently Vista+ doesn't actually ship with legacy (legacy being DX9 and lower) DirectX components. Some things may work, but anything relying on non-included dlls will fail. At the very least, I noticed GPU-Z would complain of a missing DirectX dll for the PCI-E bandwidth stress thing until I installed the redist on 8.1; not sure what the case is on 10 TP, but I installed the redist anyway.
Virtualbox *Fails - it will install fine but fail to run an actual VM. (hxxp://i.imgur.com/VrnO9ny.jpg)
NOT working (for now): VirtualBox 4.3.16 running on a W10 HOST (not to be confused with running W10 as a guest with a VirtualBox installed on 8.1--that works fine). What happens: any VM throws an almost immediate error "Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully." I've uninstalled/reinstalled it and rebooted. Autoruns shows that the Oracle drivers are there....
amazon mp3 desktop music doesnt work. first it tried playing music and it was so messed up. and then it would not play any music at all
Ok, that clears it up. I always assumed any given version of DirectX included everything prior. BlueStacks didn't survive the upgrade. Will try uninstall and reinstall.
NVidia GeForce 344.11 64-bit control panel won't open on my system, the taskbar icon is there but the control panel windows won't display. Maybe because I have 2 x 780 ?
