Debug versions have to be manually installed using Task Scheduler to load AeroHost.exe on login as SYSTEM ("Highest Privileges") If there are any issues, you hold either Ctrl or Shift during login to stop it from loading. To restart Aero Glass if it has stopped working but has loaded on bootup, goto task manager and kill DWM.exe and it will reload it. Its possible that debug symbols are not yet available for build 10240, if so AG isn't going to function properly. It needs them to properly hook uDWM.dll and DWMCore.
Create a shortcut on your desktop. You can later move it where you wish. Code: %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,Advanced,@Advanced Then you can experiment.
I just don't understand why my aero disappears after a minute... is there another solution or will we have to wait for @bigmuscle to release a new version
Probably because the hook is unstable because it doesn't know what memory offsets to patch when new windows are spawned. It relies upon debug symbols to hook uDWM and DWMCore and if it doesn't, it can crash and unhook. Waiting is probably the best option, or checking Microsoft's website to see if the debug symbols are available yet.
Oh boy Ace2 and his dirty hacks ... a good way to assure you'll have to re-install your system every other day .
Yup this is 100% the issue. The aero will stay with the 1st window, but after I open another one it crashes... Once I get back to my laptop I'll take a look at Microsofts resources to see if I can find the debug symbols Maybe there's a way to edit them
donation.key is hardware specific, so even if I gave you mine, which I wouldn't it would not work. You must donate to bigmuscle for that. LOL but yea, 10130.
I don't get the idiot at Microsoft. Why not give the people the option to enable or disable aero/glass effect on their Windows File Explorer? Talking about a half bake Windows 10 that don't know what the hell they want Windows 10 to be. It's always the mod/theme patcher that is needed to turn their ugly OS to something that's decent and nice.
The shell team recently announced they would consider titlebars transparency Should've done that a long... Time ago
Seriously what are they worrying about? My Rainmeter and Aero Glass Extension CPU is at zero percentage usage. I mean if it does affect some stuff there should be a build in to automatically disable it when playing games and and kick back to the affect after exiting a game.
An aero theme has been hinted many times before, I can only guess the UI wasn't that much of a major concern seeing as how lots of win7 and win8-8.1 settings have been streamlined for an easier user experience...Someone else said it best Win10 may win many newcomers but it's a slap to the face for power users.
