YES! Upgrading from a DAZ-activated Windows 7 SP1 will get you a genuinely activated Windows 10! I suggest you to use Windows 7 Sp1 Professional/Ultimate, so you can get Windows 10 Pro instead of the Home version.
However will it still be seen as genuine on Microsoft's activation servers? Does Microsoft give a different activation key for non genuine upgrades?
Right! And also personal questions and other topics don’t belong to here! Please keep this thread clean, thanks.
If you upgrade from win 7, yes it is, and if you upgrade from 8.1 and used KMS then it's a VL license unless you change it to retail. Even VL is seen as genuine when you use a KMS in the eye's of windows, because if windows or MS didn't see them as genuine, you would get a watermark saying it wasn't.
Surely Microsoft can differentiate whether the OS upgraded to Windows 10 was genuine or not? Question is, why is Microsoft allowing non-genuine OSes to be updated?
Yes, I bet you are right, they do want the world using it. But if they could stop loader or KMS I bet they would have, as they have stopped WPA hacks, which means they did want to stop them.
Introduction of W10 is one year. They try to get the world on that train with a certain success as it shows statistically (at least). Then they will make money when this years has passed. It is like bankers: they give you an umbrella when the sun i shining and latest when rain has started, they collect it due to rising interest or other reason. MS is not stupid believe me
Just finished reloading 5 desktop PCs! All where running non-genuine Win 7 x64 Ultimate & all have passed Win 10 Pro activation checks. One of these even had a replacement motherboard fitted after a clean install. This initially failed activation, but on further reboots passed, with no action taken by myself.
