Has anyone seen build 26466 (was able to capture a screen shot of it)? Microsoft showed it at a conference in France (I believe) and would love to see what it offers. It's got a dedicated gaming mode that has been said to clear up over 2gb of memory. Full build name 26466.ge_current_directxbox_flight
@DavidinCT - Please stop posting requests for build 26466 in multiple threads. Also, be aware that any iso's of this build can not be shared here without a verifiable file hash provide by Microsoft.
IF there is an ISO at all, could also be distributed as pre-configured and adapted ROM image in the devices themselves. They are consoles with halfway definitive hardware, after all.
I don't see the bits in the current dev insider preview - could you show me what you are seeing and how you enabled it? There is a registry entry you can configure to get the 'full screen experience' for the Xbox itself to launch and some feature flags you can set to get the alt-tab experience to (partially) work, but the task bar is missing entirely/the settings - gaming features do not appear (and do appear on the ROG Xbox Ally in hands on videos)/the 'boot into gaming mode/exit to desktop mode' stuff is missing...
Sorry, this has been the place I have been coming to for years looking for updated Windows builds from going back to the Windows 8.1 days. I figured this would be the area to find out information on a Windows 11 build I really wanted to see the changes on. Can you provide details about the bits you speak of?
Do you know what update or preview/beta build.etc has that option? I'll try to install it on a handheld device. Is there a registry setting for it?
Dev and Beta and you will need 50902630 and 52580392 enabled and a patched gamemode.dll file which I am unsure if I can share here
Checking "system information" the field "platform role" shows what it is for example my laptop and Steamdeck show as "mobile and my Desktop shows as "desktop. Or do you know what field it is looking for? If my SteamDeck would not be detailed as a "handheld" this might not work at all. You do know a lot more about this than I do, I'm sure someone picked this apart, is there a good source for more info? I know this type of stuff, hacking Windows to enable something might be beyond the scope here. I don't want anyone to get in trouble with this. When you say these versions enabled do you mean updates KB 50902630 and 52580392? Meaning updates applied to a beta/Dev build? Just want to do some head-to-head tests with this to see what results are with some games in the real world on the deck.
Ah, now if I can find that patched gamemode.dll file.... I'll try to do some googling.... No luck, can anyone help? even DM me, I am cool
Does anyone know, install on mobile device, with Dev or Beta build, enable the 2 feature ids 50902630 and 52580392 would this feature show up, OR do I need a "hacked/patched" gamemode.dll for it to actually show up?
