Hi all Is there a trusted tool available to convert Windows 11 Home to Pro or Enterprise edition? I've just installed it from an ISO downloaded directly from Microsoft using Rufus, it's obviously read my UEFI setup and automatically installed Home edition. Thanks in advance!
This key does not activate, updated system will be activated if you are connected to the Internet and your computer was previously activated as a Pro version. Any other case You must activate it manually. It would be wise to do the whole upgrade process without an internet connection, otherwise the upgrade may not work.
I just bought a Win 10 Pro key online for £3 and managed to upgrade Win 11 Home to Pro. My old Win 10 Pro key that I bought several years ago wouldn't work and gave me an error, but I bought that for about the same price and had already used it. Anyway, disconnected from the internet, put my old key in and it went through the quick process of a pop-up box opening and going to 100% but then gave an error. I assumed it had failed to upgrade so went looking online for a key. Bought a key that said it couldn't be used to upgrade and it was only a Windows 10 Pro key for a fresh installation. Tried it and it didn't work. Rebooted my laptop and it said it was installing features. Weird thing was that after it came back up, winver said it was Win 11 Enterprise and when clicking on activation and clicking go to MS store to buy a copy, it went to a page that said the version of Windows is not available for me to buy. Tried putting in the new key I had just bought and immediately the version changed to Windows 11 Pro and was activated with a digital license
Enthousiast, topic starter said he has a downlowed ISO. He can mount iso, mount install.wim and upgrade to edition he need. Or just remove Home from wim.
DISM can't set the flag and index name and description, (wimlib-)imagex is needed for that. But then you can simply use "create_virtual_editions.cmd" like shown here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...make-windows-iso-unstaged.84312/#post-1697840
