One of the most interesting features of windows 8 is windows 2 go. Today I bought a Super Talent Express RAM Cache 32GB Stick but I can't find this feature. Did anyone make it work to run window2go?
This is accessible via the Start UI -- Change Windows To Go Startup Options. And obviously the user was asking for a Windows to Go creation interface, which doesn't appear to exist.
anyone else noticed a 'dirty bit' problem when rebooting windows 7 from harddrive after reboot from windows 2 go? filesystem for all volumes shows dirty on a reboot, but when checking no errors found, only flagged : )
Yeah there is some sort of issue with the WCP were it flags all your harddrives for no reason :\ does happen with a normal install too for me i did put on a VHD, also i can't cancel the check on my USB keyboard (only the first one) the others work with usb keyboard.. lol
Has anyone got good results with an USB stick? I have a Corsair 32 GB USB3 stick, but the system it very slow, almost unusable (also with USB3 ports).
my stick is a super talent express ram cache 32GB, awesome, look at that (better performance than with SATA3):
yes, but it was tricky, I did it with imagex from the windows 7 commandline, windows 8 setup did not allow to install to a stick, so I made it the usual fast way with: imagex /apply d:\sources\install.wim 1 u:\ then I booted from the win8 setup dvd and entered repair mode to fix the mbr: bootsect /nt60 u: /force /mbr and finally I created the bcdstore bcdboot.exe u:\windows /s u: /f BIOS (ALL or EFI depending on your hardware) (Windows 7's bcdboot does not allow the /f flag) make sure in diskpart the volume (u: is the volume on the stick in this case) is active. reboot from the USB3 stick and windows 8 setup does the rest, switches automatically to windows 2 go mode. If windows 8 is already installed on your harddrive you can do it like mentioned above ^^
