I am assuming the oembios files in the root are for the non R2 version, yes? Do you have key for the R2 Enterprise?

    Thanks :D

    Hi tom4.1,

The OEMBIOS sets for Win2K3 work with all Win2K3 OEM versions, thats STD, ENT, WHS, SBS, R2, SP1 and SP2.
Personally I only use the R2 sets ;)

Like the WinXP OEMBIOS sets work on all WinXP OEM versions.

I've never tried these on any of the x64 versions, so I'm not sure if its the same for them.

Server 03 Enterprise r2 SP2 still asks for activation

Server 03 Enterprise r2 SP2 still asks for activation using the above Enterprise specific OEM Bios file kit components.
My box has HP string which already works with XP OEM.
I only copied the files to OS and did not add or modify any other files.

Next I will start from scratch making my own mod-ed files similar to those used for XP OEM only changed were needed.

Meantime if anyone knows of an issue that is preventing success please let me know.

    System is 32-bit

Adding files to an already installed OS can be a real pain.
You have to replace files in the Systems32 folder, Catroot folder, Dllcache folder and maybe more.

Its far better/easier to edit the Setupp.ini, Winnt.sif and add the four oembios files. Burn the image, sit back and have a beer. :)

Did you edit the SETUPP.INI file?

    Hi

Yes, I tried to but was learning and remembering the process when doing XP.

    Sorry

So do you think the string change to "Hewlett-PackardDell System" will work.

Suicide Solution has some knowledge, I will PM anyway and ask.

    Found this:

My modded Virtual PC bios reads like this:

    CODE
System Manufacturer: LEGEND DragonIBM CORPORATIONHewlett-PackardFounder PCAcerSystem

    CODE
    BIOS Vendor: CompaqTSINGHUA TONGFANG COMPUTERHEDYCOMPUTERFUJITSU-PCTCL123

    CODE
    Chasis Vendor: MEDIONPCTOSHIBA

All SLP BIOS strings above confirmed working with the corresponding vendor OEMBIOS files, my modded Virtual PC Bios rom can be found in the attachment

    In short, no

    :)
Sorry about the edit of my previous post after your post but I was not so specific in a few areas and would add it is all in fun for me, which is why I do these things

I am not stupid and will move on, I did use the correct licencing components, this was not the problem as the image I made did in fact activate with the FUJITSU-SIEMENS EntR2 OEM key.

The best way would be to start with the correct CD, it is just the case I have not got it or the ability to download it at this time!

It is all good, just experimenting.

Can the installed functioning VLK OS be modified for OEM, now this is probably a stupid one but I have not heard anything so thought I would ask anyway?
I have access to the OS through another.
