    Hi Everyone,

I have been running Windows 2008 R2 + RemoeApps + CAL licenses for sometime now. Thanks to this forum :p

I want to move users to Windows 2012 R2 server now. Is there a solution for me in terms of both activiating Windows 2012 server and also RemoteApps and CAL licenses? ****All users will have legitimate copies of Windows 10 when connecting to RemoteApps to server.

On Windows 2008 R2 I have used KMS activation. I appreciate someone giving me background here how this is different now on Windows 2012 Server R2

    Thanks,

Windows Server 2012 R2 can be activated using DAZ Loader or KMS.

1- Thanks and is that as stable as KMS is on Windows 2008 R2? in terms of not requiring to activate over and over again.
2- Must I keep updates OFF?
3- Would I be able to activate CAL same way as before as well?

    Thanks,

The DAZ Loader and KMS Toolkit both show genuine. So as far as the OS knows, it's good to go. Updates work and everything.

And somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but 2008 R2 RDS CALs are different from 2012 R2 RDS CALs, so the same numbers you have won't work and you'll need 2012 R2 RDS CALs.

Can I still use the *same method* that I used for 2008 CALs to obtain CALs for 2012?

Awesome! Thanks for all the feedback guys.
In conclusion is there ANYTHING I have to be worried about in terms of licensing etc that is might be different than Windows 2008? I have Windows 2008 working just fine but the new HD-DPI screens don't work well with Windows 2008 so I am forced to upgrade.
