    Well, I think that anyone with a bit of Windows knowledge is aware of that, 3.11 is by far the best known Win 3.x version.

    Even Linux when reached v3.11 was dubbed, as a joke, Linux for workgroup. :D

    Back to Win 3.2 I think there was also an obscure OEM (update only) version which was also dubbed as 3.2, and was unrelated to the Chinese version.

    Nevertheless seem that any trace of it ended in the bit bucket, I can't find any reference to it in 2022's web.

    Just wanted to counter the phrase "there wasnt just Windows 3.1"[sic]. Windows 3.1 had no (or only very basic) networking capabilities, that's what WfW 3.11 was for.

    @Carlos Detweiller

    I'm pretty well aware that you know the matter possibly better than me. But sometimes I quote someone's sentences just to elaborate better, in favor of other (younger) readers, not to correct the person I quoted. ;)

    Just to elaborate more, at the time, given how unstable and prehistoric Windows was, there was huge room for improvements, indeed Win 3.11 was a substantial upgrade to windows 3.1, no matter if one needed the networking capabilities or not. Frankly calling 3.11 as 3.2 or even 3.5 would have been more than deserved.
    To avoid confusion MS would have also called NT3.x as NT 4.x, NT4 as NT5 and so on.

    But we know that with the frantic evolution happened back on the days, MS failed to be consistent with itself...
