didnt work for me,i made 1 for every size of res just incase and not 1 worked as soon as i pressed ctl/atl/del it was the same old logon...even enabled it in the registry didnt help. had to create the info/backgrounds folder ....still no luck ....kept the size within the limit too....ahh well hit and miss i suppose.
Worked for me fine. I just put a 220KB 1920x1200 backgroundDefault.jpg and it used it on the next reboot.
Not so far after 4-5 reboots. I haven't actually checked the key value but my login screen always comes up, so I'll assume the key is still 1, or there's as bug I can really live with .
Uhm... try this attachment. Rename it from .txt to .reg, run it. Make SURE all of the .jpg's are less than 256 kb in size! It should take affect when pressing Win + L, you shouldn't even reboot.
Well, there you go. It did switch at some point. Curious. I just added the Wow6432Node entry which I did not have originally, see if that makes it permanent.
Keeping in mind its really meant for OEM's, so Dell can have a massive DELL logo printed across the logon screen. :s
