I am running a very old machine with an AMD 780G chipset.

When I initially installed Windows 7 years ago I followed a guide that advised partitioning prior to installation to prevent creation of a separate System Reserved Partition for the MBR. Now I regret not doing a regular install.

I've been using Macrium Reflect to clone my system drive from a Samsung 830 SSD to a larger Samsung 860 EVO SSD. The clones kinda work but booting is slow at times and at other times it won't boot at all.

I need to learn how to either repair my non-standard MBR or how to create the System Reserved Partition and move the required files from my C:/ drive to there.

Please point me to a solution if you can help.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I followed your advice and updated chipset drivers. The first boot afterwards was fast and smooth so maybe that solved the problem. I'm going to read the other information that you pointed to also.
